It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Col. (Rtd) James Nguyo Gitahi, formerly of the Kenya Air Force (KAF), Bluebird Aviation, and 99 Flying School, who lost his life through a tragic road accident along Mombasa Road on 5th March 2025.
He was the beloved son of the late Joseph Gitahi Nguyo and the late Magdalene Wangechi of Wamuini A, Kitale.
Loving husband of Senator Betty Montet Gitahi and devoted father of Wangechi and Allan Iha, Capt. Joe and Maj. Kate Gitahi.
He was a foster father of Maryann Nduku; and loving father figure Samidoh Muchoki.
Cherished brother of Loise Nyamweru, Francis Kihumba, the late John Ndung’u,Veronica Wanjiku, Albert Macharia, and Peter Ndiang’ui.
Son-in-law of the late George Ole Montet and the late Ann Nduku of Kibiko, Ngong.
Doting grandfather to Kai Iha, the late Nguyo Iha, and Nailantei Iha, Kayla Wambui, Eli Kabaka, Charlene, Mike and Nimu.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, 13th March 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Kitisuru, at 2:00 PM.
The burial will take place on Saturday, 15th March 2025, at his Maanzoni home, Mavoko Constituency, Machakos County.
Prayers and burial arrangements are ongoing at his residence in Nyari Estate, from 5:30 PM.
