CAPTAIN GEORGE NGATIA GICHURU

With profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will, the Ngatia family announce the passing on to glory of Captain George Ngatia Gichuru, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash on 22nd March 2025, southwest of Mogadishu, in Somalia.

He was beloved husband to Lydia Wambui Ngatia (KPMG) and devoted father to Wanjiku Ngatia and Gichuru Ngatia.

George was a cherished son of Aloysius Gichuru and Susan Wanjiku Kagondu. He was a brother to Annie Waceke Gichuru.

George’s life was a testament to his skill, courage, and unwavering dedication.

A highly accomplished pilot, he soared through the skies with a grace and expertise that reflected his passionate spirit.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his warm smile, gentle heart, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends.

George’s memory will be cherished not only for his professional achievements, but for his kindness, his generosity, and his enduring love for his family.

He lived a life full of purpose and passion, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Funeral Service:

Prayers with the family ongoing daily at ICC Nairobi from 5.30PM – 7.30PM until Friday, March 28th, 2025.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at 8.00 AM for a funeral service in celebration of George’s life at the International Christian Centre (ICC Nairobi), Mombasa Road, Nairobi at 09:00 AM.

All who knew and loved George are welcome to attend and share in the remembrance of his remarkable life. A private cremation will follow thereafter.
