It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee Joseph Chege Gatua on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home in Matwiku, Ngarua, Laikipia County.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew him.
He was the beloved son of the late Lucia Wangui and the late Paul Wilson Gatua of Tumu Tumu, Ngurumo, Nyeri County, and cherished husband of Purity Wangechi.
He was a loving father of Lucy Chege, Hannah Chege, and Nelson Chege.
He was also a loving father-in-law of Macharia Karani and Raphael Thumbi.
He was a loving brother of Charity Nyawira, John Mathenge (Tumu Tumu), the late Elizabeth Muthoni, the late Zachary Karimi, Mary Wangechi, Alice Wamuyu, and Stephen Mwangi.
Brother-in-law of John Ndung’u and the late Kubu.
He is grandfather of Mary Esther Wanjiru, IvyGrace Wairimu, Jane Nyaguthiì, Tiana Wanjiru, Quinton David, and Claire Njeri.
The cortège will leave Sipili Funeral Home at 7.00am on Tuesday 18th March 2025 for Burial at his home in Matwiku, Ngarua Lakipia County at 10.00am.
